25.1 Opening astronomy tours
Astronomy tours are arranged in several groups. To access a particular group, click one of the tour buttons in the Home window (Astronomy Tours tab). Then click one of the tour headings in the upper part of the window. A list of other sets of tours is displayed under See also: in the lower part of the Astronomy Tours window.
Alternatively, you can choose Astronomy Tours in the Information menu, which takes you to the Essentials group, from where you can reach all the other tours.
25.2 Astronomy tour commentaries
When you start a tour RedShift closes all open windows automatically to leave most of the main window available for the simulation. The tour commentary and the tour controls are located in a panel across the top of the tour window.
The left side of the panel displays the tour commentary (an explanation of the current stage of the tour).
If the tour includes voice annotations an Audio commentary check box is displayed to the right (default is: play commentary). The audio commentary contains the same information as the text box on the left.
 25.3 Astronomy tour controls
The main tour controls are located in the center of the top panel. When you first select a tour, the first stage of the tour will play automatically. After that, you have two options. You can step forward one stage at a time by clicking the step button (on the right of the stop/pause button ). Alternatively, you can play the tour continuously by clicking the play button , on the far right of these controls.
During continuous play, click the stop button to stop the tour.
Click the rewind button to return to the start of the tour.

The progress bar above the buttons shows the current stage in the tour. In the example (1:3) the next stage is second: the tour contains 3 stages.
25.4 Leaving astronomy tours
To leave an Astronomy Tour click the Close button . RedShift is now ready for you to continue using the software using the settings for the point at which you left the tour. If you don't want to continue from these settings, from the File menu, choose Open Default Settings. This will return you to the standard view of the sky from Earth.
